Sign Up for City's Permanent Absentee Voter List

April 3, 2020 – Registered voters in the City of Midland can sign up to cast their vote in upcoming elections without ever leaving their homes by joining the City’s Permanent Absentee Voter List.

Voters who join the City’s Permanent Absentee Voter List will automatically receive an application to vote by absentee ballot in the mail 8 weeks before every election in the City of Midland. After completing and returning this application – which must be done before every election – the voter will receive his or her absentee ballot in the mail.

“Joining the Permanent Absentee Voter List saves our voters time because it no longer requires a phone call, email, letter, or in-person visit to receive an absentee ballot application” said City Clerk Erica Armstrong. “The entire process, from completing the application to casting a ballot can be done by mail and tracked online through the Michigan Voter Information Center (MVIC). Voting by absentee ballot is a safe, secure way for voters to cast their ballots without waiting in line or making a special trip.”

To sign up, visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/absentee and click on the “Join the Permanent Absentee Voter List” button at the top of the page. The form takes less than two (2) minutes to complete and requires only basic information such as name, address, and birth year to verify identity. One form should be completed for each registered voter wishing to join the Permanent Absentee Voter List.

For more information on absentee ballots or voting information for voters living in the City of Midland, visit the Midland City Clerk’s Office online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/clerk.
